Mike’s Top 7
Posted on 02. Apr, 2009 by Michael Scott in Notes & Reflections, Personal Notes
You know, I’ve never had an occasion to do a Top Anything List on this blog before. But after recently being tagged by Ian Peatey of Quantum Learning, I now have an excuse to create two Top 7 Lists. Thanks, Ian! I owe you one. (Seriously though, watch your back).
Okay, so the official protocol once you’ve been tagged is:
- Link to your original tagger and list these rules in your post
- Share 7 facts about yourself in the post
- Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names and links to their blogs
- Let them know they’ve been tagged.
So here we go:
The Top 7 Useless Facts About Me

- If I could do anything in the world I wanted to, one of the things would be blogging about love. I’m not telling you the other things.
- I’ve managed to convince Acooba and the kids that I’m not ticklish. I’m seriously proud of this. I always win tickle fights because I’ve got them completely psyched out. (I just hope they don’t read this.)
- I’m not usually into material things, but my very first purchase on Ebay was a 1967 Lime Gold Mustang that I called The Jolly Lama. She was sweet! But… (sigh) she was also impractical. We had to break-up after only 4 years together. (But this is in no way related to Love Challenge # 1.)
- I’m totally immune to chalkboard screeching. Yet there are certain sheer fabrics that give me serious heebie-jeebies when my fingertips brush against them. Uh! I shudder just thinking about it.
- My personal philosophy towards food is: if it takes longer to prepare than it does to eat then it’s not worth it. Acooba just rolls her eyes at me.
- Despite item 5, and the fact that I believe in non-violence, love and sharing - I am extremely territorial and aggressive over cheesecake. Consider yourself warned.
- I work VERY hard so that I can be lazy and laid back. (Thus far, it’s not working.) So if anyone ever tags me again, I will re-post this same list.
Okay, so steps 1 and 2 are complete now. Before I get to step 3 I need to explain that I’ve agreed not to tag some of you, so that my sister Nadia of Happy Lotus (also tagged by the now infamous Ian Peatey) can get you instead.
So here we go with list number two:
The Top 7 People on My Tag List:
- Lisis of Quest for Balance for being a great friend and blog-community leader;
- Sherri and Gwynn of Serene Journey for being perpetually pleasant people;
- Mocha Dad for being such a great example of a father;
- Vincent of Yinnergy for being such a warm and supportive guy;
- Gennaro of Enduring Wanderlust for being so friendly and positive;
- Regina of Regina Terrae for her great humility and loving nature; and finally
- Jeff of GetJef.com for being so smug about evading my April Fool’s joke. I told you to watch your back, man. Bet you didn’t see this coming.
So there you have it, folks. I don’t know about you, but I’m sure glad that’s over with.
- Michael

You know, when we all finally get together we will have one HUGE cheesecake fight. Throwing it all over the place! Like the serious, mature writers we all are.
And I always work with my back to the wall, so my rear end is most definitely covered, my friend!
But seriously now. That wasn’t so bad was it Michael? I had fun reading.

@Lisis
Okay, IT’S ON! But just remember - you brought this on your self!!!
@Ian
You too! IT’S ON!
And yes, Ian. I do have to admit that this was fun. So thanks for the tag. I seriously need to get back to work now, so if you don’t stop causing me to laugh out loud, I’m going to have to get a restraining order against you.

Hi Michael,
I know what you mean about how much work goes into being laid back…not so easy is it?
I love the list and am impressed with not being effected by chalk screeching. I am with you on the cheesecake…I have an awesome cheesecake recipe and I hope one day we all can meet up and I will bring the cheesecake or should I say cheesecakes!
BTW, thank you for mentioning me, my brother!

Very interesting seven things! I particularly like the one about working hard so you can be lazy…I’m pretty sure that works out for some people, haha.

That’s car is classic Americana. Not the best for a big family or modern-day gas prices, but a nice ride for sure. Thanks for the mention.

@Vincent
Yeah, being tagged isn’t so bad after all, huh?
@Lance
Hey Lance! Thanks for stopping by, and thanks for sharing. All the same, I won’t be sharing any cheesecake.
@Nadia
Hi Nadia, after today’s hard work and wont just be laid back - I’ll be laid out! Well we’re all going to have to get together and have a cheesecake convention. I’m still not sharing mine, though.
@Positively Present
Hey, I’m totally serious about that. I’m one of those guys who tries to automate his life so that everything is easy. But I just end up spending all my time automating things.
@Gennaro
You’re welcome. Yeah, I miss that care (sniff).
